Updating Symantec AntiVirus on Mac OS 9.x

Please see the steps below to set up automatic update off your Symantec AntiVirus software on Mac OS 9.x:

1. Open the Applications folder.
2. If there is a Symantec AntiVirus folder, open that as well. In not, proceed to Step 3.
3. Double click on the Symantec AntiVirus icon.
4. Click on the Live Update button in the Symantec AntiVirus window.
5. Click on Schedule Future Updates in the Live Update window.
6. Click on the New button in the Live Update Scheduler window.
   1. Change the name to Daily Update.
   2. Click OK.
   3. Change the event type field to Update All.
   4. Change the How often field to Daily.
   5. Change the Start time to today's date.
   6. Next, select a time that your computer will typically be on and connected to the internet.
   7. Click the Done button.
   8. If the event is scheduled in the past, click OK anyway.
7. Press OK on all AntiVirus windows.
8. Hide or minimize the program.
