Creating a Computer Administrator Account - Windows 98

Windows 98

Because the Windows 98 platform is not considered secure, the secure administrator account as we know it on the more current Windows platforms does not exist. While it is possible to add additional user profiles to a Windows 98 machine using the instructions below, remember - Windows 98 is not a secure computing environment.

Please see the steps below to create additional user profile accounts on your computer:

1. Log into the machine with the existing administrator password.
2. Click on the Start button.
3. Now click on Settings.
4. Choose the Control Panel.
5. Double click on User names and passwords.
6. Click on the New User button.
7. Fill in the boxes.
