Windows ME Security Updates

The automatic update tool for Windows ME can be found in the Control Panel. Please see the steps below to set up automatic security updates on our computer:

1. Click Start.
2. Next, click Control Panel.
3. Select Automatic Updates.
4. In the dialog box that appears, select one of the options.

   Note: We recommend that you select Automatically Download Updates and Notify Me When They Are Ready to be Installed which is the default setting.

5. Click OK.

When an automatic update is available, a bubble will appear over your AutoUpdate icon in the System Tray. You will need to do the following steps to install the update:

1. Click the AutoUpdate icon to open the Microsoft AutoUpdate window.
2. Next, click the Install button.
3. Wait for the update to be installed.

   Note: A message will appear on your screen when the install has been completed.

4. Click OK.
